TaDaDaDaaaaa da da da da daaaaa……. Ok…. this is supposed to be the « Imperial March »…. I know… I didn’t whistle it well… So here we are.. the Star Wars Exhibition.. In Brussels it started mid february and will last until the 1st of June… I gotta admit.. I’m a guy.. meaning Star Wars is supposed to be my Childhood… and it is actually.. my first memory of it was during a Birthday of a friend, I wouldn’t even be able to say when or where, there was in background « A New Hope », didn’t really looked at it.. and for some reason we looked at the Episode V, and I remember wondering why it was written V when it was supposed to be the #2.. I would have the answer way more later that this day… ^^ So here we are… On a saturday, happy to go and see what was one of the biggest movie things of our childhood… And we entered in this wonderful building, with a Speeder, and a star Wars fan taking it in picture… starting to be nice already ^^

I’ve got to confess that this made me realise how badly I didn’t remember everything in this whole saga… I saw episode II and III only in cinema, so this is clearly not helping…
This is obvisouly the Speeder of Anakin Skywalker in Episode I :

The arena of the land speeder.. wow… and no, it’s not a legend, it’s really Q-Tips but with different colors, it’s just.. woww

Then it was the start of seeing real characters.. R2D2, C3PO… everything is really quiet eventhough a lil bit crowded, but everyone is probably astonished and almost seeing all this why kids eyes.. explaining why the silence is obvisouly the rule that applies…

Here’s a link to the HD pictures if u wanna see ‘hem clearly —–> Flickr star Wars Exhibition page.
And if u wanna see my meeting with the Lord of the Sith aka Dark Vader, it’s this way, just need to see
It’s really incredible how models that are now almost 3 decades old can be in that shape and really well preserved… Everyone is just amazed once again…

And there it happend.. just after the room where was the Puppet from Master Yoda…. in the hallway… Darth vader.. with a light saber… and storm troopers opening the way for him… Dunno why, but everyone just reacted… well.. gotta admit he was really really really tall… more than 2meters in height (one of our friend is 1.90, allowing us to compare easily). I just love how the kid is really impressed by him, hanging himself to the wall, almost saying « he didn’t see me… or did he?? »

It’s just amazin’ how simple things can look just great, like the radar thingy just above, made from pins… almost 2 hours later it was the end of this Tour, looking at the merchandising now… we could film ourself and have a Dvd burned with our « action sequence », but it was probably way to overpriced for what it worth…

And we waited for the « Jedi Academy » which allows « every kid to know how to be a Jedi »… well.. we’re kinda kids no?? we have to start by swearing the Jedi thingy…. there are 2 jedis who are taking kids… of course they didn’t choose us… :p anyway… Then then talked, half in French, half in Dutch.. in order to all the Kids to understand what they are saying.. the guy… « repeat after me » … « Ik » the crowd « Iiiiiiiiikk »… « been »…… « beeennnn » « Jekmal » « jjjeeekkkkmmmmaalllll »… the jedi stops.. and because he was saying that in Dutch, realised almost everyone was speaking actually French (Welcome to Belgium).. him « well.. err… nooo.. Ik Been jekmal actually means that my name is Jekmal… so what do u say u all say ur first name instead of mine… except if u all call urself Jekmal no??? ».. so here we are.. saying our name.. pretending it’s the first step to become a Jedi… ^^

I’m really impressed by those building.. called « Tour & Taxi »… really architectural, well lighted, just awesome, with a nice weather.. nothing more to say… just nice rehabilitation of a spot that is really near Bruxelles city center….

Forgot to say what happend when we arrived to the place.. the parking is supposed to worth 2Euros.. well.. ok.. why not.. so we arrive, lowering the window, giving 2 euros, the gards give us a ticket, and another one say.. « well.. what can we swap with ya guys…? » us « errrr…well.. wha? » him… » yeah.. don’t u have an orange juice or something and we give you ur 2euros back »… us, astonished « well.. not that I can remember.. not in my car.. but wait.. i got some candies if u want?? » him « hell yeah… give the ticket back, we’re taking the candies » and so we entered for free the parking.. funny moment ^^

We then went to a pub where we planned to eat, but the kitchen closed at 6pm.. on a saturday nite.. wha the….???? pff.. so we ended up in a warm and nice Tunisian restaurant, lucky i guess, but damn good vibes and everyone happy to discover an owner that really nice is etc…
Enjoy!!!
