Friday. 6PM. working. Eww. A friend (and colleague) is coming. “So what’s the plan for tonite?” me “errrr… dunno.. kinda focused on the database thingy right now…” “Ok… well.. we tought we might go to the “apero urbains” later if y want to” me “yeah… well… yeah… who’s going, when”… and that was the beginning of a nice evening But what exactly are the “apero urbain”. it’s just a nice and cool idea, for the summer, a spot, never the same, to hang out and be able to have a drink…

So just leaving after work, going back to my place, to get my camera. Yup, for once, I didn’t had it on me ^^ So the time to catch a little something to eat, and here I was on my way to the spot of this week, not that far from my street actually… and it’s supposed to be on a “place”.. which turns out, yes, to be a “place”, but also a roundabout ^^ I parked some streets ahead, near l’avenue Lepoutre (ca, c’est spécial dédicace pour Msiou), and it seems that it will be filled with romantisme tonite with the little Rose (ROFL).

As usual I’m probably one of the first here, but too many people, no way I will randomly met someone in this crowd dat’s for sure. And my so called “photographer’s eye” (I never believed in that) saw a building.. and wanted to take it.. what I did

And by doing that, I actually just met with 2 of my fellow co-workers, that were waiting.. let me quote “next to the Lebannon embassy”…

Ok.. we can all agree it’s not lebannon, no cedar, no green, but yeah, it’s an embassy, the Turkish one hehe (ok.. i’ve been kinda a diplomat at some point… but well…) fun times. So here we were, waiting on the rest of the group to comes and join us. And before that, saw some Cops, like half a dozens, in motorbikes, blocking the street. Then realised it was the “Roller Parade” that event that makes meet roller boys n’ girls around the city, helped by police, Djs etc etc… Should do one sometimes…  arff

And I saw another Red Bull car, I really need to start this collection, saw one in Dublin, another one in Paris, and finally one, in Bruksel live a couple of weeks ago. Love the idea ^^ and love the rollers with the stickers “we love belgium” that i’ve discovered at the “fete de la musique” this year in here ^^

So, finally, the “groupetto” joined. And here we started for the “ambiance” to come in. As usual I’m mostly drinking Soft drinks (aka Coke or Red Bull), I made sure we’ll have some for the nite

Baz was also in here, with a bigger lens, with a bigger camera… And yes, he’s in the right path (he has a Nikon), the lens he has is awesome for daylight, but of course, when it’s the evening or the night. He just can’t shoot without the flash… hehe. “I dare you to be able to take some pictures in half an hour, the light is… gone”… yup.. except with my beloved f1.4 lens… it’s not as sharp, of course, but at least it allows me to take some shots (yay inside, eventough I still want a D300… grrrr), and makes me happy.. wha can I say

At every “Urban drink” like those, there’s a DJ, that, sometimes, really plays good music. Kinda surrounded by Posh people, we are 3D CG artists stylish guys, not shaved, funny shirt,and binging our own stuff to drink. To say the least, we can order a pack of 24 Beers (it’s, for real, on the menu) for 50€ O.M.G.. But hey, the music (only electro, not even sure I hear a Rock or Hip Hop song for the whole nite) was good, and the people very nice, what can we ask. (it seems gossips are being said… Leo said to me earlier “strange how everyone talks to me at the studio, seems like I have a friendly face or something…”. I thought that, well, I don’t speak to you about my lasts conquests or whatever. but yup, you and Titou are really two cool people).

 Kamal joined just a little bit after. I am impressed by him, he has seen is wife for something like 2 weeks in 2 years. no kidding, as a CG Guy, he worked in Canada, and now in Belgium, I dunno if I could handle 2 years like that. wow. (thinks she’s in india, but not sure). Anywhoo. another one added to the group!

Everything for the drink, u can dance, u can shout, but don’t spill your drink ^^ And once again, because I am shooting a little bit.. some people “can we have a picture”. Of course u can, my camera is crappy (see the line where I said I deeply wanted a D300) but i can try to do a cliché or two of course :)… One of ‘hem said “without the flash, are u sure?” mouahahahh. yup, i’m sure [love this lens, the best bargain and asset I have at the moment] so here we are, random people, posing, kinda loving this way of doing things, so no hard feelings, take the picture, it’s all yours once again

The time to take some lasts pictures, dancing a little bit, and it was time to head home..That is definitely a nice nite, let all the other “apero urbain” be like this one
